This family owned business was founded in 1968 as a small local vegetable cutter and transformed into a leading player due to growth of existing business and successfully integrated acquisitions.
Hessing is active in five countries primarily supplying to retail, wholesale catering companies and the foodservice market. They have a leading market position in the Netherlands with a market share of 33%. Hessing is the main vegetable supplier of Jumbo and Superunie.

Location
Venlo is the Netherlands’ most developed logistics hotspot and home to a large number of XXL distribution centers and agricultural operations. This trimodal location houses numerous (European) logistics operations and is broadly seen as logistics gateway from and towards Europe.
Venlo is located at the junction of motorway A67 (towards Duisburg and Eindhoven) and the A73 (towards Venray/Nijmegen and Echt/Born). Venlo has a barge terminal that connects Venlo, via the Meusse River, to the Port of Rotterdam and the European hinterland. Next to that, Venlo has also an active rail terminal. A new rail terminal is currently under construction on Trade Port Noord. This new rail terminal will be the largest rail terminal of Europe. With those three modalities combined, Venlo offers excellent conditions for a sustainable and future proof logistics environment.
Planning
Delivery will be in Q1-2023. Hessing expects that they need nine months to finish their omplete built-in. The first production is planned for April 2023.
