Use of analysis tools, plug-ins and tracking
- social media plug-ins
So-called social media plug-ins from the following social networks are used on our websites. After clicking on the integrated text/image link, you will be redirected to the page of the respective provider. Only after you have been redirected will user information be transmitted to the respective provider and information about you will be collected by the respective network. With the help of this solution, you can determine yourself whether and when data is transmitted to the operators of the respective social networks.
You can deactivate interest-based advertising via the cookie setting (see point 4 (2)). If you are logged into your user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the collected information of the specific visit to your personal account. If you would like to prevent the collected information from being assigned to your user account, you must log out of the social network before clicking on the graphic. In addition, you have the option of configuring the respective user account accordingly.
We use the following social media plug-ins on our homepage:

- other plug-ins and embedded functions and content
On our website, we use functional & content elements that are obtained from the servers of the respective providers (hereinafter “third-party providers”). These can be, for example, graphics, videos or city maps (hereinafter uniformly referred to as “content”).
Note: Transmission to the USA
The European Court of Justice has ruled that US law does not offer a level of protection comparable to European data protection law. Thus, there is a possibility that your personal data may be processed by US authorities for control and monitoring purposes without you having a corresponding legal remedy.
The appropriate level of data protection when using service providers and processors outside the European Union (EU/EEA) is ensured by compliance with Art. 45 et seq. DSGVO, primarily by concluding the standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) DSGVO and by obtaining your consent for transatlantic data transfers pursuant to Art. 49 (1) (a) DSGVO.
YouTube
Our website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers, provided that you have consented to the setting of the plugins and thus on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
We only record the extent to which the YouTube videos embedded on our website are accessed and delete this data after two years.
Further information on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy at: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
Vimeo
Our website uses plugins from Vimeo for the integration and display of video content. The provider of the video portal is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. When a page with an integrated Vimeo plugin is called up, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. Vimeo thereby learns which of our pages you have accessed. Vimeo learns your IP address, even if you are not logged in to the video portal or do not have an account there. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the video portal’s servers in the USA.
Vimeo can assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You have the option to prevent this by logging out beforehand.
The legal basis for the integration and use of Vimeo on our website is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
For details on how we handle user data, please see Vimeo’s privacy policy at: HTTPS://VIMEO.COM/PRIVACY.
Google Maps
Our websites use the map service Google Maps from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter: “Google”).
Google Maps is deactivated as a default setting, so that no personal data is initially passed on to Google when the page is called up. Only by clicking on the map section and confirming a note again do you activate the map and give your consent to data processing (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). After activation, the content of Google Maps is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the website by it (so-called 2-click solution). Google Maps can be deactivated at any time by clicking on it again and the consent can thus be revoked.
When the map section is activated, the provider receives the information that you have accessed our website. This occurs regardless of whether you have set up a user account with Google and are logged in there. If you are logged in to Google with an existing user account while visiting our website, Google may also be able to associate your visit to our website with your user behaviour. In addition, further cookies may be sent to your browser by Google. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of our website, have no precise knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Google, nor do we have any possibility of further restricting the transmission of data to Google and its partners. According to the information provided by Google, Google stores the data as user profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or designing your web pages to meet your needs. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) for the provision of needs-based advertising.
For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data including the deletion periods by Google as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the information provided by Google, e.g. the privacy policy at https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/. We do not store any data ourselves from this processing. Further information regarding data processing by Google can be found at: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
- analysis tools
(a) Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Ltd, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland, a subsidiary of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043 (hereinafter “Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to identify the frequency of use of certain areas of our website and preferences. The information generated by the cookies about your use of our website (including your shortened IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation activated. This means that the IP address of the user is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union (EU) or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your internet browser will not be merged with other Google data. If you do not wish to have Google Analytics analyse and measure your website’s reach, you can deactivate the use of Google Analytics cookies using an Internet browser add-on as an alternative to the options described in section 4 (2). You can download this here: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. In this case, a so-called “opt-out” information is stored on your end device, which serves to assign your deactivation of Google Analytics. Please note that such an “opt-out” information only leads to a deactivation of Google Analytics for the end device and the relevant internet browser from which it was set. In addition, you may have to set it again if you delete cookies from your end device. The opt-out cookie is only valid for the internet browser used when setting it and only for our website and is stored on your end device. If you delete the cookies in the internet browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.
Further information on data use by Google, setting and objection options can be found on the Google website at
https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners and https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads.
(b) Google Ads
(aa). We use the online advertising programme “Google Ads” on our website and in this context the conversion tracking (visit action evaluation). Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service of Google Ireland Ltd, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland, a subsidiary of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043 (hereinafter “Google”).
If you consent to the use of this service, a cookie for conversion tracking will be stored on your computer when you click on an ad placed by Google. These cookies have a limited validity, do not contain any personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Thus, there is no way that cookies can be tracked across Ads customers’ websites. The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookie is used for the purpose of compiling conversion statistics. Your data may be transmitted to the USA.
You can find more information and Google’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/
(bb). We use the remarketing function within the Google Ads service on our website (see paragraph (a)).
For this purpose, the interaction of users on our website is analysed, e.g. which offers the user was interested in, in order to be able to display targeted advertising to users on other sites even after they have visited our website. For this purpose, Google stores a number in the browsers of users who visit certain Google services or websites in the Google display network. This number, known as a “cookie”, is used to record the visits of these users. This number is used to uniquely identify a web browser on a specific end device and not to identify a person; personal data is not stored.
In addition to the option of deactivating tracking, you can prevent them from participating in this tracking process in the following ways: a) by setting your browser software accordingly, in particular the suppression of third-party cookies will result in you not receiving ads from third-party providers; b) by installing the plug-in provided by Google at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin; c) by deactivating the interest-based ads of the providers that are part of the self-regulatory campaign “About Ads” at the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, whereby this setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanent deactivation in your browsers Firefox, Internetexplorer or Google Chrome at the link.
Further information on data protection at Google can be found here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy .
(c) Facebook Pixel
We use the so-called “Facebook pixel” of the social network Facebook on our website, which is operated by Meta Platforms Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”).
Facebook Pixel allows Facebook to target you and the other visitors to our website for advertisements (so-called “Facebook Ads”). We use the Facebook pixel to achieve a better customer approach on Facebook. This is because the Facebook ads placed by us are only played to Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our offers or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products, which are determined on the basis of the websites visited) (so-called “Custom Audiences”). Finally, the integration of the Facebook Pixel allows us to track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. This is because it allows us to see whether you were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called “conversion”).
If you agree to the use of this service, a so-called cookie will be stored on your end device. If you then log in to Facebook or are logged in to Facebook when you visit our website, your visit to our website will be noted in your Facebook profile. For us, the data collected about you in this way is anonymous. However, we would like to point out that this data is also stored and processed by Facebook and thus a connection to the respective user profile is possible. Facebook may use this information for its own market research and advertising purposes. If you would like to prevent the collected information from being assigned to your user account, you must log out of the social network before clicking on the graphic.
For more information on the Facebook Pixel and how it works, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.
(d) LinkedIn Insight
We use the LinkedIn Insight tag of the social network LinkedIn, which is operated by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, California 94043, USA (LinkedIn), on our website.
LinkedIn-Insight is a JavaScript code that is embedded on our website. This records the visits of LinkedIn members to our website. LinkedIn thus receives the information that you have visited our website and combines this with your profile data on LinkedIn in order to show you targeted advertisements on LinkedIn about our company. This allows us to measure the performance of our ads.
If you consent to the use of this service (see section 4 (2)), a so-called cookie will be stored on your end device. If you then log in to LinkedIn or are logged in to LinkedIn when you visit our website, your visit to our website will be noted in your LinkedIn profile. For us, the data collected about you in this way is anonymous. They do not allow us to draw any conclusions about you. However, we would like to point out that this data is also stored and processed by LinkedIn and thus a connection to the respective user profile is possible. LinkedIn may use this information for its own market research and advertising purposes. If you would like to prevent the collected information from being assigned to your user account, you must log out of the social network before clicking on the graphic.
The LinkedIn Data Use Policy https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy applies to data processing by LinkedIn. For more information on LinkedIn Insight and how it works, please visit https://business.linkedin.com/de-de/marketing-solutions/insight-tag.
