From the beginning of 2025, innovative system solutions for large-scale PV systems are to be supplied from Niestetal all over the world.
With the new building, which also sets standards in terms of sustainability, SMA is doubling its production capacity from the current 20 gigawatts to 40 gigawatts.
SMA has joined forces with the two Hamburg-based real estate companies property team AG and GARBE Industrial Real Estate GmbH to realize the €80 million investment project. As developers and investors, they are responsible for the turnkey completion of the project on schedule.
A gigawatt factory with a total area of approx. 17,000 sqm is being built on the 46,000 sqm site.

The site is an expansion area for SMA, on which we are building a customized property for SMA's production expansion in cooperation with Property Team.
Planning
Our cooperation partner Property Team was responsible for the planning and implementation of the property.
Advice
The property was tailored precisely to the tenant's high requirements and enables him to optimize his production processes.
Construction
In less than 18 months, a modern building for the production of state-of-the-art technology will be built.
Completion is scheduled for mid-2024.
