For more than 30 years, GARBE Industrial has been one of the leading providers and managers of logistics and corporate real estate in Germany. That is why we want to set a good example and are committed to ecologically and socially sustainable corporate management and to the responsible use of resources for the society in which we live and work. Today and for the future.
Leading by example: 6,729 red beech trees for the Sachsenwald
That is why we have decided to plant one tree for every 100 m² of developed hall space from 2021 and thus give something back to nature beyond existing legal compensations. The number of trees planted this year consists of our logistics areas of a total of 606,900 m² (6,069 trees) developed by the end of 2021, and the 660 trees already given away last year at Christmas.
In total, we were able to reforest about 1.3 hectaresof forest, which stores about 6 tons of CO2 per year over the years of the trees.
Impressions from our plant event

CO2 balance: Why does every tree count?
Trees not only store a lot of CO2, but also provide a habitat for many different plants and animals. In addition, they not only produce oxygen, but also filter water and air. Planting a tree means making a major contribution to nature and climate protection.

In exchange with foresters and the foundation
For the project, we were looking for an organization that could support us in implementing our project. Our choice fell on the
Stiftung Unternehmen Wald. In close cooperation with the respective foresters, it provides us with selected areas in Germany.
This year, together with the foundation and the Bismarck Forest Administration, we were able to carry out the plantings in the Sachsenwald. With almost 70 km², this is the largest contiguous forest area in Schleswig-Holstein. At our planting event at the beginning of November, together with colleagues, we put the first 250 red beech trees, which are selected by the forest administration according to the location, into the ground.
