Rieste/Hamburg, 7 November 2024 − Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH is leasing its last available plot in Niedersachsenpark Rieste, located around 30 kilometres north of Osnabrück, to a leading provider of logistics services. The company plans to use an 11,500-square-metre hall there to store and handle components for the process chain of a car manufacturer.
“With this leasing, we have achieved full occupancy at the Rieste site,” says Philipp Petersen, Regional Manager Hamburg at Garbe. “Once again, it is clear that an excellent location combined with high-quality project development is a reliable guarantee for successful leases.” The company owns a total of three state-of-the-art logistics properties covering a total area of around 91,000 square metres on approximately 150,000 square metres of land in Niedersachsenpark, all of which are now fully occupied.
The new tenant is moving into one half of a new logistics building in Rieste, which comprises around 9,500 square metres of hall space, 1,500 square metres of mezzanine space and around 500 square metres for offices and social rooms. The other half of the 23,000-square-metre logistics property is already being used by Schletter Solar GmbH, a manufacturer of mounting systems for photovoltaic installations. The hall section for the logistics service provider is equipped with 15 dock levellers to ensure smooth goods receipt and dispatch. There are 19 parking spaces for cars and five for trucks on the outdoor area for the new tenant.
Like the other two logistics halls, the new building was constructed in accordance with the latest sustainability standards. For example, high-performance photovoltaic systems are installed on the roofs to generate renewable energy. For all three buildings, Garbe Industrial Real Estate is aiming for certification in accordance with the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
With an area of more than 400 hectares, Niedersachsenpark in Rieste is the largest intermunicipal commercial and industrial area in Lower Saxony. It is located in the northern part of the Münster/Osnabrück logistics region, which is as an important freight transshipment point between the North Sea and the Ruhr area. “Thanks to its logistics-oriented economic structure, the region is an attractive market for product-related logistics services,” emphasises Philipp Petersen. The park itself has excellent transport links thanks to its location directly on the A 1 motorway, one of the most important north-south axes in Germany. The Neuenkirchen-Vörden junction is only a few hundred metres away. The motorway junction Lotte/Osnabrück, which connects the site with the Netherlands via the A 30 motorway, is 25 kilometres to the south.
