Garbe Industrial Real Estate buys property near Madrid

Alcalá de Henares/Hamburg, 23 April 2025 – Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH continues to expand in Spain. The pan-European property company has acquired an approximately 24,000-square-metre plot of land ready for construction in Alcalá de Henares, northeast of Madrid. A logistics property with a total area of around 12,500 square metres is to be built on this site. The investment volume amounts to around 15 million euros.

Alcalá de Henares is around 30 kilometres from the centre of Madrid. The property is located directly on the A 2, the most important motorway in Spain. It connects the two metropolitan areas of Madrid and Barcelona. 

Garbe Industrial Real Estate plans to develop a new building with a hall area of approximately 12,000 square metres on the site. There will also be around 500 square metres for offices and social rooms. Construction is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2026. The property is scheduled for completion at the end of 2026. 

The project in Alcalá de Henares is the third that Garbe Industrial Real Estate has undertaken in Spain. The property company had previously acquired a plot of land in Numancia de la Sagra in the province of Toledo and in the Barcelona metropolitan region. “Spain is a market with great potential, especially for the logistics asset class,” says Sven Schoel. “We are therefore delighted to be developing a project in another core location with Alcalá de Henares.” 

Garbe Industrial Real Estate was advised on the purchase of the property in Alcalá de Henares by property service provider CBRE and commercial law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
