GARBE Industrial expands multi-user logistics centre
News 29/05/2017
Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH is developing a logistics hall of almost 10,000 square metres for TGL Group (The Green Line) in Ochtrup near Münster. The hall is being built on a plot of more than 60,000 square metres, which the Hamburg-based project developer partially acquired from TGL Warehousing GmbH & Co. KG, a company of the The Green Line group. Garbe Industrial Real Estate was advised by Logivest. The consulting firm specializing in logistics real estate provided support during the negotiations.
There are already two logistic halls on the site, each measuring 7,300 square metres. The expansion of this multi-user logistics centre by Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH began in May of this year. The new logistics area will be equipped with two ground-floor gates and ten dock levellers, where trucks can dock for loading and unloading. The property is also being developed for the storage of water-polluting substances. An energy-efficient LED lighting system will be installed in the hall. The logistics centre is to be completed and put into operation as early as December.
More space for spare parts logistics
Within the multi-user logistics centre, contract logistics services are provided for various companies in a wide variety of industries. They range from storage and order picking in the B2B and B2C sectors to distribution, including customs clearance. One of the customers for whom the global provisioning of spare parts is performed in Ochtrup is a major machine manufacturer. An average of 5,000 spare parts for machines are packaged to customer specifications and shipped each day by an international logistics service provider. The reason for the expansion is the continuing demand for optimal stocking and the fastest possible delivery of spare parts.
Ochtrup offers the best infrastructure
“Germany’s north-western Münsterland, in direct proximity to Lower Saxony and the Netherlands, is a highly interesting location both nationally and internationally,” says Jan Dietrich Hempel, managing director of Garbe Real Estate GmbH, highlighting the location and traffic infrastructure. The logistics centre is connected to the A 31 Bottrop-Emden motorway via the federal highway 54. The Dutch city of Enschede is only 15 kilometres away. The distance from the logistics centre to the Münster/Osnabrück airport is 45 kilometres; it is 25 kilometres to the A 30 motorway, which connects Osnabrück with the industrial city of Hengelo in the Netherlands and also with the metropolis of Amsterdam.
