Kabelsketal/Hamburg, 20 January 2025 ‒ Garbe Industrial Real Estate GmbH can announce the first leasing success in 2025. It has concluded a rental agreement with Bravobike GmbH in Kabelsketal (Saale district, Saxony-Anhalt). The company specialises in the purchase, sale and reconditioning of used and leased bicycles. Bravobike will use a total area of approx. 23,500 square metres in Kabelsketal for the repair and storage of bicycles. The keys have now been symbolically handed over.
Adrian Zellner (Member of the Management Board, Garbe Industrial Real Estate), Heiko Burret (Investment Management, JobRad), Dr. Nela Murauer (Managing Director, Bravobike), and Steffen Kunnig (Mayor of the Municipality of Kabelsketal).
“With this agreement, we are continuing our successful leasing strategy of recent months,” emphasises Adrian Zellner, Member of the Garbe Industrial Real Estate Executive Board. “The deal underlines both the attractiveness of the location and our decision in favour of a project with a very good infrastructure, as well as the potential of the logistics property we developed.” These aspects also convinced Bravobike. The company is part of the JobRad Group. JobRad® is the market leader in company bike leasing. “We have found the perfect location in Kabelsketal with this Garbe property,” explains Dr. Nela Murauer, Managing Director of Bravobike. “The combination of office, workshop and warehouse space meets our requirements perfectly and is ideal for our growth targets thanks to the flexible usage options.”
The company sells reconditioned bicycles and e-bikes online, giving them a second life. Each bike undergoes a standardised refurbishment process in which it is carefully checked, professionally cleaned and expertly repaired. The refurbished bikes are then offered for sale via the online store. The space rented in Kabelsketal has two delivery zones as well as an incoming goods area for incoming bikes and an outgoing goods area on the opposite side of the building, where the bikes prepared on site are loaded for dispatch.
Bravobike is now using around 21,000 square metres of hall space, which is equipped with 20 dock levellers and two sectional doors at ground level for the loading and unloading of
trucks. In addition, there are almost 900 square metres for offices and approximately 1,800 square metres of mezzanine space. The used bike specialist has four truck and 50 car parking spaces available on the outdoor premises. From February, Bravobike plans to create many exciting job opportunities in the areas of production and logistics at this new, state-of-the-art location.
The leasing was brokered by the real estate consultancy company Colliers in Leipzig. Legal advice was provided by the Hamburg law firm Trûon Rechtsanwälte.
In total, Garbe Industrial Real Estate has developed around 62,000 square metres of logistics space on the 100,000-square-metre site in Kabelsketal. The building complex, consisting of two halls at an angle to each other, was designed to be used by several tenants from the outset. The new building was completed in October last year. Around 22,000 square metres had already been leased to the online supermarket Picnic before construction began. 15,000 square metres of hall space, 500 square metres of office space and 1,500 square metres of mezzanine space are still available. The property is certified according to the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council. Heating is provided by heat pumps.
The new building is located in the immediate vicinity of the B 6 federal road, which connects the site with the A 9 Berlin – Munich motorway. The Großkugel junction is three kilometres away. From there, it is six kilometres to the Schkeuditzer Kreuz junction with access to the A 14 Magdeburg – Dresden motorway and a direct connection to Leipzig/Halle Airport.
