Garbe Group celebrates its 50th anniversary

Founded in Hamburg in 1965 by Bernhard Garbe, the Garbe Group is now one of the leading Mittelstand businesses operating in the real estate sector in Germany. Initially the company concentrated its efforts on the residential development sector in the North of Germany. As the business grew, it moved into office space and commercial real estate, launched the stilwerk brand (loosely translated as “style factory”) and invested in a significant number of other property asset classes.

Garbe’s 50th anniversary – the story of a family-owned business that is proud to carry on in the traditions of the Hanseatic merchants. Now under the management of an outside partner and two of the founder’s sons, Christopher Garbe and Alexander Garbe (stilwerk), the German property group today focuses on logistics property, residential and commercial developments and property management. In its anniversary year Garbe has 100 employees and offices in 5 locations.
